Off the dock at 6 am, wanted to get through the wide part of Lake Champlain before any winds had a chance to pick up and make for a smooth ride. The lake was calm as can be, with a slight haze on all the surrounding mountains.

Less than a mile from the marina and two miles from the Canadian border we were stopped by the Coast Guard for a customs inspection. There’s a first, not sure why we were stopped but all went well. Nice guys checked the boat for contraband and registration. Quick search and gone.

Tomorrow to Canadian customs.
