Bar Island Anchorage to Grafton Harbor

Last night was truly ugly weather, 50’s became 40’s and the rain never stopped. Holly made a nice dinner, excellent warming soup. And we turned in early waiting on the high winds which were forecasted for coming after midnight. Well for once the weather man was right, about 3:30 the started gusting to 30 plus. Anchorage held great and I couldn’t sleep!

Got up early and call the LeGrange lock and dam. Guess the Army Corp of Engineers is not good at telephones because their phones didn’t work. The other problem became they wouldn’t answer the VHF radio , now what do we do? F-it leave the dock and go to the lock so they see us. Three hours later we get lock down hoorah!!!!! Still pissed that he couldn’t tell us what was happening on the radio!

We had a 80 mile day so we were way behind if we wanted to dock in Grafton before dark. We push hard and got in about an half an hour before dark, our buddy boat who we are traveling with us got in as the darkness arrived. All worked out, but a long day. Off to a local pub for drinks and dinner.

Engine room check after arriving show oil all around the generator which had been running for for twenty hours since we had anchored out the night before. I was worried but left it alone and went to dinner. I’ll get to the bottom of it tomorrow.
