Marlboro Yacht club excellent stop and great people.
Traveled from Half Moon Bay Marina to Marlboro in poor weather but all went well. Arrive about an hour ahead of friend’s boat. Matt, the dock master meet us and helped get us tried up and settled in.
The marina called a fuel truck for us and we fuel up. Absolutely the the least expensive fuel on the loop! Thank you to Matt and his crew!
As we docked we got a call from our next stop in Troy NY telling us that our reservation was canceled because other boats were not leaving, because of the Erie Canal closures of locks. We began to scramble looking for another marina or anchorage. I called Donovan’s in New Baltimore and ask to be waitlisted hoping to get a slip. We thought we’d end up staying two or three days in Marlboro. Okay, it could be worst….I remember telling the admiral about a minor leak around the driveshaft…no worries plenty of boat chores to do. Got up early Tuesday, fueled up and emptied one of the holding tanks and back to our slip thinking we would be there for the night. Around 11:00 Donovan’s emailed that they had a slip for us, hurrah, we’re moving! Quick lunch and off we go.
On and off rain for the first two hours then smooth sailing up the Hudson!
