Ship’s Log 04162025

Southport to Morehead city

Got up at the crack of dawn, we were under way as soon as we had enough light to see by. Hard to use my flashlight to see to start the engines on the helm. Beautiful sunrise and then hauling ass to make the Onslow Bridge opening between 12 and 1 if we missed it we would have to wait until 5:00 to get through. Four hours at anchor in now wheres ville would be a marriage challenge I don’t need at this point in my life. We made it by the skin of our teeth, ran the boat at top speed for the last half hour. Once through, we could slow down and enjoy the rest of the trip. Only to get to Morehead City and have the winds at 25 mph directly against the docks, and I can tell you that was the ugliest docking I done so far. Had to power in after the fourth try, the first three try’s were super ugly, hopefully no one was videotaping or it will be on the internet shortly. We might need some fiberglass work soon, if this keeps up.

Once in, we walked to a nice dinner and had a wonderful evening. Good food and good drinks.

Off to bed after watching our show, another early morning tomorrow.
