Isle of Hope to Beaufort

Another beautiful sunrise, but going to have a late start. Waiting on a mechanic to look at the steering on the upper helm.

Sunrise

The mechanic saw it was an air bubble and it would work its way out. Not true as we found out.

Off we went toward Beaufort SC for a couple of days.

Well life doesn’t always go as planned! We still have a steering issue and today we seam to have bent a prop. The only thing we can figure out is the must have been something like a log under water. We were in the channel and it showed plenty of water under the boat.

Luckily we had passed the Hinkley boat yard a six miles back so we turned around and went back. Very nice people, had the boat pulled right after we docked. Pictures below:

On to the hard!

Tomorrow we drive the props to Brunswick to the machine shop, the drive back Thursday to pick them up. The yard thinks we can be in the water by Friday and to Beaufort SC by Saturday. Then on to Charleston for a few days.

Oh, No. Hope the boat gets fixed and you make it safely to Beaufort, NC. We have been here all week and it has been amazing.
