Fernandina Beach

Nice short trip from Brunswick, more skinny water at low tide but we made it.

Got into a very tight side dock cleanly and with great help from my bride. What to do next: clean the salt off the boat or go to the beach? Beach wins, but first we need to get the bike out and set up.

Flat tire

Nice walk to the bike shop for a new tube for the bikes. Great bike shop and nice owner. We changed the tube and headed out for the other side of the island. Great beach but the water was too cold for the old guy to get more than my feet in. Easy four mile ride, no hills in Florida to speak of.

Repaired and ready

Back to the boat after the beach and out to dinner. Brent’s restaurant at the marina, great fresh fish.

Rain started on Sunday and has not stopped.

Fernandina is awesome. Check out Cafe Karibo for lunch and ride the bikes to the nature preserve.

    Enjoy!

We got Dahon 7speed, small wheel so you are not going anywhere fast. Good for getting groceries, etc.
